I will discuss a few resources that parents can use to assist their children is increasing their love of reading as well as their reading ability level.


Kay Guberud is a Literacy Consultant for the Special Education Team at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. She holds licensure in general education, special education and as a Principal. She also holds her master’s degree as a Reading Specialist. Prior to her work at DPI, Kay worked as a Special Education teacher in Boulder, Colorado; and as a Reading Specialist and Special Education teacher in Wisconsin. Kay is the Mother of 2 grown children and is filling up her empty nest with her Bernese mountain dog.
