WEBINAR DESCRIPTION: This webinar will provide information on the TIES (Training, Intervention and Evaluation Services) program. Both presenters have experience providing outreach consultation on positive behavior supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caretakers.Training options will also be discussed.

PRESENTERS:

Axel Junker (M.S. Special Education) works as the program manager for the University of Wisconsin Waisman Center’s Community Outreach Wisconsin (COW) More...programs. In his role as a Community TIES program consultant Axel provides outreach consultation on positive behavior supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their caregivers. Axel has presented extensively on the topic of crisis response as well as on community-based supports for individuals with dual diagnosis (developmental disability and mental illness). Prior to joining the Waisman Center, Axel had worked for numerous years as a supported employment professional and has presented and consulted on the topic of supported employment in his native Germany. 

Rachel Weingarten is the training and events coordinator for Community Outreach Wisconsin. These trainings provide fundamental skill-building opportunities for paid and non-paid care providers in a group setting on topics such as health care, behavioral support, and best practices in supporting adults and children with IDD in the community.
