Supporting Literacy at Home During the School Year

Thursday, September 21, 2017 -
12:00pm to 1:00pm

DESCRIPTION: If your child isn’t already back in school, it’s right around the corner. This year, your child will have new goals and objectives, explore new content, and learn new skills. There are many ways family members of young children can support literacy at home and in the community outside of school hours. We will discuss assessments, Literacy in the IEP, and communication with your child’s school. We welcome you to join us as we explore tips, strategies, and everyday opportunities for you to engage with your child and your school around literacy.

PRESENTER: Vicki Davis Davila is the director of the State Personnel Development Grant & Milwaukee Public Schools Initiative Grant at WI FACETS.  Her work involves educating and empowering parents and families to be engaged & effective decision-makers in their child's life.
