Description:

Adversity in childhood is common and can have significant impact on a child's ability to function in school. The WI DPI is committed to supporting schools to develop sustainable systems that are trauma informed through a comprehensive online professional development system. This presentation will review the prevelance and impact of adversity in childhood and discuss how caregivers and educators can work together to become protective factors in the lives of our youth. A review of the WI DPI's online  professional development system will also be reviewed.

Presenter:

Elizabeth Cook is the school psychology consultant for the WI Department of Public Instruction. She is licensed in both school psychology and private practice school psychology and has experience in rural, urban and suburban settings across two states.Parent advocacy has always been a central focus of her work and she is excited to present for WI FACETS.
