Advocating for Your Special Education Child’s Mental Health Needs in School

This workshop will provide information to create a more collaborative and successful IEP process for families and staff. It will provide helpful strategies, as well as information about how to use strength-based language. This workshop will increase participant's understanding of their child's rights and how to better advocate for their child's needs.


Anna Moffit currently works for Wisconsin Family Ties as a Parent Peer Specialist in Dane County. She is a parent of a child that is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has used her experience to help other families advocate for their children and youth. She has her degree in elementary education, has served on the Madison Metropolitan School District's Board of Education.
