Family Guide to RtI (Response to Intervention)

Thursday, August 15, 2019 -
12:00pm to 1:00pm

This workshop will cover the basics of Response to Intervention (RtI).  Participants will gain knowledge to ask good questions about the RtI process in their child’s school, how they can support their child in an RtI system and how RtI fits into Special Education.

Lori Karcher is the Director of the DPI Grant for WI FACETS. One focus of this grant is to promote meaningful participation of families in educational outcomes for students with disabilities. Lori is the parent of a young adult living with Cerebral Palsy, a significant cognitive delay and complex seizure disorder and two typically developing teen-aged boys.  Lori’s experience as a WI FACETS’ Help Desk Specialist, in conjunction with her personal experience navigating special education with her daughter, has given her a unique perspective and significant knowledge in working with school staff to increase positive outcomes for students with special education needs.
