We know that families are an important part of the transition planning process. To be a part of this process, it is important for families to understand the new law: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This session will provide an explanation of WIOA and the related transition services provided to students by school districts and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Presenters:

Pam Jenson is the Transition Improvement Project Grant (TIG) Coordinator and works for CESA 2.  She graduated from U.W.-Stout with a Bachelors Degree followed by a Masters in Vocational Rehabilitation minoring in Vocational Counseling and Assessment.  For over 20 years Pam has worked with individuals with disabilities in various transitional capacities including residential, case management, school to post-secondary options, and vocational evaluation and training environments.

Sarah Lincoln is a Policy Analyst for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Prior to her work for DVR Sarah worked in the Employment Initiatives Office at the Department of Health Services on employment for people with disabilities participating in the Long Term Care programs (Family Care, IRIS, ADRC's, etc.).
