This presentation will cover when and how to file a special education complaint with the Department of Public Instruction. What to expect during and after a complaint investigation will also be covered.

Presenter:

Anita Castro is a School Administration Consultant at the Department of Public Instruction serving on the Procedural Compliance Workgroup and IDEA State Complaint Investigation Workgroup. She has been at the DPI since 2000, serving as an Assistant Director on the Special Education Team for ten of those years. Anita has 22 years of experience as a special education teacher. She has a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and is certified as a Director of Special Education.
