IEP Part II (in Spanish): Essential information about the rules and regulations related to the creation of the Individualized Education Program (IEP). In Part 2 of this workshop, participants will learn:

• The definition of special education and related services

• Determination of the type and the amount of services

• The evaluations in which the child may/may not participate

• How the IEP program changes when the student turns 14

• The special factors to consider in the creation of the plan

• The primary rights of the parents (Procedural Safeguards).


Información básica sobre las reglas y regulaciones relacionadas con la creación del Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP). En la Parte 2 de este taller, los participantes aprenderán:

•          La diferencia entre la educación especial y los servicios relacionados

•          Cómo se determina el tipo de servicios y la cantidad

•          El tipo de evaluaciones en el que el niño va a participar

•          Cómo el programa de IEP cambia cuando el estudiante cumple 14 años

•          Los factores especiales a considerar en el plan

•          Los derechos primordiales de los padres (GARANTÍAS PROCESALES).


Samson Srok is the Bilingual Outreach Coordinator for the Wisconsin Family Assistance Center for Education, Training, and Support, Inc. He recently completed his Bachelors Degree in Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is excited to be back home in Milwaukee. Samson is passionate about community development. He also works at the the Fondy Food Center, which aims to increase access to local, healthy food in Milwaukee. When not working, Samson takes care of a very sweet and nervous Rat Terrier named Elliott.
