Students with disabilities can be subject to seclusion and restraint when their behaviors are a danger to themselves or others. Learn all about the requirements of the law and the new important changes that were put in place this year. Learn ways to work with your school to help reduce and eliminate these practices.

Presenter:

Sally Flaschberger was the lead special education advocate for Disability Rights Wisconsin for 11 years. She served families and students in Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties. Sally is a qualified trainer in the areas of transition, assistive technology, seclusion and restraint, special education, and school choice. She led the education policy work at DRW including the changes to the seclusion and restraint law. Currently, she coordinates a grant for the Wisconsin Board for People with disabilities. Sally also has an adult son with a developmental disability.
