Description:

This training will cover what Section 504 is, what schools must do because of it, the criteria for students to qualify for a 504 accommodation plan and how 504s are different from IEPs. we Will also cover how Section 504 can help students with disabilities in college and in the workplace, and provide information on Section 504 grievance procedures.

Presenter:

Matthew Zellmer is the Parent Services coordinator for WI FACETS, which oversees the help desk that provides quality special education support to families. He is also the Transition Coordinator under the Milwaukee Advocacy Grant, under which he co-organizes the summer Youth Leadership summit for high school students with disabilities and hosts other transition workshops for youth, families and professionals. Matthew earned his Master’s degree in communication and is a frequent presenter at statewide conferences.
