Covid-19 has made things very difficult for schools, youth families and agencies to execute a high-quality transition plan. The Transition Improvement Grant created a transition planning and resource guide to help all those working on behalf of youth with disabilities to continue to find necessary resources and tools to help during the pandemic. We would like to highlight some of the different sections to the resource guide and answer any questions that participants have related to effective transition planning and programming during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn where to locate resources that can directly assist them with the coordination of transition activities for youth during this difficult period of time.
  • Learn how to navigate and access Padlet (on-line resource directory that allows you access resources and tools).
  • See some best practice examples of how to engage youth and their families during a time where on-line learning is being utilized with high frequency.

PRESENTER:

Brian Kenney is the Southern Regional Transition Coordinator for the Transition Improvement Grant (TIG). This is his 9th year with TIG and he is passionate and dedicated to helping youth, educators, agencies and families learn more about transition planning and programming that increases youth outcomes.
