The workshop, Accessible and Equitable: Materials Matter, will provide an overview of Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) in Wisconsin. Participants will gain an understanding of the legal requirements of AEM, develop an awareness of the decision making process for AEM eligibility, receive AEM guidance for IEP teams, learn about resources available to acquire AEM, and build knowledge around next steps learning opportunities.

Stacy Duffy, the CESA 2 Transition and Identification Specialist, is an accomplished special education teacher and transition coordinator with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She serves as the co-manager of the Assistive Technology Forward Project and is the director for the Wisconsin Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) Center. She brings an extensive background in special education with an emphasis on inclusive education and improving postsecondary outcomes for students with IEPs.
Amy Snow is an Assistive Technology Instructional Specialist at the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, where she has been employed 19 years. She graduated from Northern Illinois University as a teacher for the blind and visually impaired and pursued her certificate as a specialist in AT for the blind and visually impaired. She manages WCBVI’s AT Loan Library and assists teachers around the state with learning and using screen readers, braille displays, and other specialized technology for the blind. Amy lives in Janesville with the three most spoiled felines in Wisconsin.
