Description:

Because Early Childhood is a very short but important phase of a person’s life, the primary caregivers play a vital role. This is especially true during the evaluation and IEP process. This session will dive into the Early Childhood evaluation process and share why and when Part B providers need the wisdom of the caregivers who know the child the best.

Learning objectives:

  • Families will gain an understanding of the IEP process through the lens of early childhood.
  • Families will gain awareness of their roles within each phase and why they are important in the evaluation process.

Presenter: Catherine Daentl

Before shifting into regional and statewide technical assistance for Early Childhood Special Education 8 years ago, Cathy has served in the Early Care and Education field in multiple capacities.
