Description: Parents, this one’s for you! Have you ever been approached by someone who says, “I just don’t know what to do anymore, we’ve tried everything!” Yes? Well, you are not alone. In this workshop, we will explore using inquiry and learn some collaboration techniques to support us to stay curious when confronted with hard situations related to behavior, regulation and communication. Together we will get the N.E.W.S. to notice, explore, wonder and strategize to generate opportunities that have the best interest of our children at the forefront of what happens next.

Learning objectives:

  1. The participant will gain an understanding of ways to notice, explore, wonder and strategize when confronted with an opportunity related to behavior, regulation or communication.
  2. The participant will gain ideas about ways to advocate for a child based on real-world experiences.

Presenter: Jen Townsend

I, Jen Townsend, live in a state of inquiry, staying curious to challenge the status quo and to be authentic in how I notice myself and others with appreciation. I’m a partner, parent, professional and passionate human. My absolute favorite color is orange. I have numerous degrees in education, several publications including a book Think Differently, and professionally I am an educational consultant that focuses on adult and child well-being by supporting skills that enhance engagement. I believe that we can do more than make a difference, we can be the difference when we choose to think differently.
