In this session, we will learn about the importance of Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) and focus on AEM resources/supports for students and their families.

Presenter:

Stacy Duffy, the CESA 2 Transition and Identification Specialist, has an extensive background in special education and transition planning with an emphasis on improving postsecondary outcomes for students with IEPs. In addition to her consulting work at CESA 2, Stacy is the Director of the Wisconsin Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) Center and co-manages the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Assistive Technology (AT) Forward Project.

Learning Objectives:

  • I will develop an understanding about what Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) are and the role they play in my child’s education.
  • I will understand the decision making process to determine if my child has a need for Accessible Educational Materials (AEM).
  • I will learn about resources available to acquire Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) for my child.
  • I will understand where to find next steps learning opportunities around Accessible Educational Materials (AEM).
