Event Details

This workshop will focus on building an understanding of how to use verbal de-escalation when someone is dysregulated or in crisis. It will also explore how mental health conditions can impact an individual’s thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Last, it will provide ways to support a dysregulated individual, as well as resources in our community.
  • Identify key components for verbal de-escalation
  • Build a better understanding of how mental health conditions can impact an individual’s behavior, thinking and emotions
  • Identify ways to support your child and/or adolescent with mental health needs within the community
Presenter: Anna Moffit is the executive Director of NAMI Dane County – National Alliance on Mental Illness. She also worked as a Parent Peer Specialist at Wisconsin Family Ties and is a parent to an adolescent on the Autism Spectrum.
