The workshop will consist of a review of recent developments in state and federal special education law as they apply to K-12 students in Wisconsin.

Learning Objectives:

• Attendees will become familiar recent developments in special education law.
• Attendees will become familiar with the dispute resolution options available for resolving concerns
• involving the development and implementation of IEPs.

Presenter: Paul Sherman has been a School Administration Consultant at the Department of Public Instruction since 2007. At DPI he serves on the Special Education Procedural Compliance Workgroup and is coordinator for the department’s Pupil Nondiscrimination Program. Paul holds education and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
