Description:

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that focuses on removing barriers and supporting flexible learning environments so that all students have equal opportunities to learn and express their understanding. This session will explain the three core principles of Universal Design for Learning, along with the goal of each principle. Examples will be provided to demonstrate how the UDL framework can be utilized to address the unique needs of individual students with disabilities. Understanding the basics of UDL helps parents be informed partners in the IEP process and work with schools to meet their child’s needs in the least restrictive environment.
